BANGALORE: Children's Movement for Civic Awareness (CMCA), a joint initiative of Public Affairs Centre and Swabhimana, arranged a screening of the film, Chaka Chak, produced and directed by Sai Paranjpye, at the Jawahar Bal Bhavan on Tuesday. The film focusses on children taking matters into their hands to clean up their environment. The director tells the story through the antics of delightful characters and humour.

"CMCA has been spearheading efforts to inculcate civic and environmental consciousness among the citizens through civic clubs. We are screening the film for various schoolchildren. The theme of the film is in keeping with the kind of work that CMCA does in the State," said its programme coordinator Vrunda Bhaskar. Children seemed to be impressed. Rohini, a class seven student of Malleswaram Ladies Association's School said,

"The film is inspiring and motivates us to take up the act of promoting cleanliness." Others simply said they liked the film a lot. Gourav Gupta, Special Commissioner of Bangalore Mahanagara Palike, and Ajai Kumar Singh, former Commissioner of Police, Bangalore, were present.

Schools and educational institutions interested in screening the film can contact CMCA on Ph: 25525452, 25525453 or cmcaexpressions@yahoo.co.in.
