Pondy wins award

PONDICHERRY: Pondicherry has won the Destination of the Year Award 2006 at the India International Travel Mart that just concluded in Bangalore. Speaking to The Hindu Gautham Reddy, Director, Tourism, said that the award was based on the feedback given by visitors to the stall.

"With the help of several hoteliers and Pudhumai Handicraft, we made a very different looking stall. We replicated the feel of Pondicherry with antique furniture, with large photographs and handicrafts."
