First phase of CENTAC counselling gets over

PONDICHERRY: The first phase of counselling for biology based courses under the CENTAC came to a close on Tuesday with seats remaining unfilled in physically handicapped and SC quotas in MBBS and most of the other courses.

CENTAC Convenor, T G Palanivelu said that of the total of 280 MBBS seats in Pondicherry, 232 were filled with 48 seats in the physically handicapped, SC, Mahe and Yanam reservation categories remaining.

In BDS, which has 29 seats, 23 were filled with one seat remaining in physically handicapped quota and 4 in SC.

In the BSc Nursing course with 51 seats available for Pondicherry 41 were filled with one seat under MBC, 3 seats for defence personnel, 2 for Mahe and 2 seats for Yanam remaining.

In the case of Bachelors in Veterinary Sciences, of the total of 30 seats, 5 seats under SC, one under freedom fighters and one under defence personnel in Mahe remain unfilled.

Another round of counselling would be conducted to fill the remaining seats.
