UCO Bank launches door-to-door service
NEW DELHI:
In a major initiative to fight competition from private and foreign banks, the state-owned UCO Bank on Tuesday launched door-to-door banking service for its customers in the national capital region (NCR). The launch of the bank's `Small Enterprises and Retail Sales Force Team' follows successful ventures in various cities across the country such as Howrah, Chennai, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar and Pune. "The idea of the forces, which comprise our own officials with a banking experience of 15-25 years across all departments, is to link the people with the bank, with regard to their products and services, through this team of officials," UCO Bank's Executive Director S. A. Bhatt, told newspersons here. Mr Bhatt pointed out that the UCO Bank was the first public sector bank to have launched a sales force team for the small enterprises and retail segment in the NCR.
