The journey of Zindagi Express, an exhibition mounted on a train showcasing the history and achievements of the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India in its golden jubilee year, ended at Delhi's Safdarjung railway station on Monday. Thanking the people for their whole-hearted support, Zonal Manager (North Zone) Ashok Shah said it was due to their abiding faith in the Corporation that LIC, particularly the North Zone, performed well on all parameters of new business performance. To promote public awareness about the history of LIC, the journey of Zindagi Express had begun from Safdarjung railway station on April 26. The train, displaying rare documents like the first insurance policy issued by LIC and the photographs of its first board meeting, passed through 40 cities across the country before returning to Safdarjung. The exhibition also showcased LIC's first issue of the magazine "Yogakshema", a model of the LIC central office and models of several projects funded by it. The visitors also had the opportunity to know about LIC through touch-screen kiosks. Other LIC products and schemes aimed at creating awareness about the insurance needs among the people were also displayed aboard Zindagi Express. -- Prashant Pandey
