KADAPA: United Electricity Employees Union leaders on Tuesday opposed shifting of 18 employees from Kadapa Electricity Revenue Office. CITU district general secretary A. Raghunatha Reddy and UEEU leaders P. Sudarshan Reddy and Sivasankar submitted a memorandum to Transco Superintending Engineer Durga Prasad demanding that the move be dropped. The ERO in Kadapa was serving 1,12,949 consumers, although there were only enough staff to cater to 35,000 consumers, they said. Kadapa required four junior accounts officers, 16 UDCs and 45 LDCs, but it has three JAOs, 15 UDCs and 17 LDCs, they said. Shifting of one JAO, eight UDCs and nine LDCs as proposed would hit ERO services, they said. They demanded an additional ERO and additional staff in Kadapa. The SE assured the delegation that he would apprise the APSPDCL officials on the issue.
