Prices under control: APCC

Special Correspondent

Tells TDP to withdraw plans for State-wide stir

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee has said that the prices of essential commodities are under control and there is no need for panic.

APCC official spokespersons -- P. Venkat Rao and N. Tulasi Reddy -- told reporters on Tuesday that the charge that the prices of essential commodities like pulses, tamarind and onion had gone up steeply was not correct.

They advised the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to withdraw its plan to hold a State-wide demonstration against price rise as the Government had initiated steps to bring the prices down. It was under the then TDP Government that the prices of essential commodities had gone up sharply, they claimed.
