Eight TDP supporters hurt in attack

Correspondent

MAHABUBNAGAR: Eight TDP supporters were injured in an attack allegedly by a 15-member group of CPI workers in the small hours of Tuesday at Gunthakodur village of Tadur mandal in Ngarkurnool divison.

The injured have been admitted to the area hospital at Nagarkurnool.

Some TDP workers allegedly teased a Dalit boy, Kavali Kasanna, while he was returning home on Monday evening.

When CPI workers Ekamber Goud and Srinivas Goud questioned their action, the TDP activists beat them up. In retaliation, the CPI workers attacked the houses of TDP sympathisers in the village. Shaken by the attack the TDP sympathisers took shelter in the house of Bala Goud, former ZPTC member of TDP.

The CPI activists rushed to Bala Goud's house and damaged a two-wheeler and tractor parked in front of the house. The mob also attacked the house of Kesavulu Goud TDP supporter and nominee for sarpanch post in the village. Police registered a case.
