Sandeep bows out

Chennai: Sandeep Jangra and Parth Sharma won their respective second round matches, but lost to higher-ranked opponents Tom Pashley and Simon Rosner respectively, in the quarterfinals of the 14th world junior men's squash championship in North Palmerston, New Zealand, on Tuesday.

Both Harinderpal Singh Sandhu's and Naresh Kumar's second round matches went the distance, with both boys fighting back after being a game down. Unfortunately, neither of them could manage a victory.

The results: Quarterfinals: Sandeep Jangra lost to Ton Pashley (Eng) 5-9, 5-9, 1-9; Parth Sharma lost to Simon Rosner (Ger) 0-9, 2-9, 1-9.

Second round: Parth Sharma bt Benjamin Fischer (Sui) 0-9, 9-8, 9-4, 6-9, 9-1; Sandeep Jangra bt M.
