Rajahmundry: Director of Higher Education Lakshminarayana has called upon private and aided college managements to compete with each other in getting National Assessment and Accreditation Council recognition. Recognition is not only a yardstick for educational values but also a sign of high standards of education. Addressing a seminar on `the process of NAAC accreditation' at government autonomous college on Tuesday, organised by the Quality Assurance Cell and NAAC, he suggested that lecturers update their knowledge and skills. Mr. Lakshminarayan said till date 74 colleges in the State had been given NAAC accreditation. Regrettably, aided colleges were not coming forward. Principals, correspondents and coordinators from 30 Colleges under Andhra University participated in the workshop. Regional Joint Director of Higher Education, N. Varaprasadarao, Andhra University Dean G. Ramachandrudu, Arts College Principal P. Krishna Mohan and NAAC coordinator G.S. Moses participated in the workshop.
