Cantonment elections: BSP to field four candidates

HYDERABAD: The Bahujan Samaj Party will field its candidates in four of seven wards in the Cantonment Board elections to be held on August 6.

Disclosing this to mediapersons here on Tuesday, BSP State co-ordinator and Central Executive Committee member Pathakota Lalaiah said that SCs, STs, BCs and minorities comprised 85 per cent of 1.5 lakh population in cantonment area.

But, major political parties and individuals belonging to forward castes, who came to power on the strength of Dalit votes, had not provided even basic amenities like drinking water, drainage, roads. On the other hand, they had been misusing funds and encroaching vacant lands in the name of temples, community halls and educational institutions, he alleged.
