BANGALORE:
The late Rajkumar's life is a guiding lamp for others, and he did not preach any philosophy, his son and actor Raghavendra Rajkumar has said.
He was speaking at a function to remember the late thespian, organised by the Advocates Association, Bangalore and the Advocates' Literary Club, Bangalore, here on Tuesday. He said Rajkumar did not teach his children anything as there was no difference between real life and reel life. However, Rajkumar led a simple life bereft of fanfare, Mr. Raghavendra said.
Inaugurating the function, K. Sridhara Rao, Judge, Karnataka High Court, said the late thespian would have been an international figure had he begun singing at a young age. However, he started singing at 45 years, he said. Mr. Rao said Rajkumar had secured a permanent place in the hearts of the masses.
President of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce H.D. Gangaraju, T. Venkatesh, proprietor of Abhimani Prakashana; Sa. Ra. Govindu, vice-president of KFCC, and Chinne Gowda, film producer, were present. Association president D.L. Jagdish presided. Advocates sang Rajkumar's songs on the occasion.
