This Day That Age
A strange phenomenon was witnessed by the people living around India's biggest sweet-water lake in Kashmir - the Wullar - last week-end. A severe storm was whipping the countryside and, while it was at its worst, the people saw a large white object whirling past at a great speed. It very much looked like an aeroplane on fire and the semblance was all the more close because it was emitting flames. The object plunged into the lake with a heavy thud. When people came out of their houses after the storm had abated, they found the fields around the lake littered with large and small pieces of ice, which had cut through the crops.
