Innings wins for Vizag, East Godavari

VISAKHAPATNAM: Visakhapatnam and East Godavari recorded innings wins over Srikakulam and Vizianagaram in the round-robin matches of the ACA north zone inter-district under-15 tournament here on Wednesday.

P.K. Shrivastav who claimed five wickets for Visakhapatnam in the first innings, picked up three in the second innings as the home team dismissed Srikakulam for 89 to win by an innings and seven runs.

In the other match, East Godavari beat Vizianagaram by an innings and 101 runs, with Subba Reddy (five for 12) doing most of the damage.

The scores: Srikakulam 147 and 89 in 32.2 overs (P.K. Shrivastav three wickets for nine runs) lost to Visakhapatnam 243 for five decl. in 62.4 overs (G. Chiranjeevi 67, Ch. Praneeth Kumar 65, N. Sunil Kumar 43, S.K. Jena 33).

East Godavari 293 for seven decl. bt Vizianagaram 147 in 67.4 overs (Abhinav Sagar 45, Sambasiva Rao five for 11, Dinesh Reddy three for 30) and 45 in 21 overs (Subba Reddy five for 12, Sambasiva Rao three wickets for six runs). — Special Correspondent
