CHENNAI: The All India Football Federation has decided to go ahead with the proposed benefit match for the former Indian football captain V.P. Sathyan, who died in Chennai on Tuesday. The executive council meeting of the Federation later this month will give a final shape to the match to be held in Kochi. The proposal, as D.V. Sundar, Indian Bank sports secretary said, was to invite a Sri Lankan XI to play an Indian XI. "We hope to collect a tidy amount which will be a great source of security for Sathyan's family," he said. Meanwhile the AIFF vice-president, C.R. Visswanathan said another suggestion that would be brought up at the meeting was to have the Federation take care of Sathyan's 12-year-old daughter's education. The child is only in the eighth standard and the effort was to see that her studies do not get disrupted in the wake of this tragedy, he said. Special Correspondent
