`Knowledge centre' opened

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister for Education M.A. Baby inaugurated a knowledge centre aimed at developing entrepreneurial skills among children at Government Higher Secondary School, Aruvikkara, on Wednesday.

The centre aims at holistic development of the area by providing vocational training and organising awareness programmes on group farming, water conservation, rural infrastructure development, health, environment and socio-economic issues to children studying in class VIII, IX and X. "We want to promote the concept of earn while you learn among children through the centre," said N. Balagopal, vice-chairman, P.N. Panicker Vigyan Vikas Kendra, which implements the programme.
