THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union Panchayati Raj Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar will reach Kochi on Wednesday for a four-day visit of the State. He is here to review the functioning of Panchayati Raj institutions in the State. The visit is part of the ongoing process initiated by Mr. Aiyar under which he is travelling to different States and Union territories to interact with representatives of Panchayati Raj institutions. He will attend the presentation on rural business hub of Mararikulam by Finance Minister Thomas Isaac at the KTDC complex, Thanneermukkam, Alappuzha at 8 a.m. on Thursday. He will then visit Kanjikuzhi village panchayat. The Union Minister will later visit the micro enterprises in panchayat campus, Kalathiveedu. He will inaugurate the common facility centre for mushroom/vermin compost at Mararikulam South Grama Panchayat and release the integrated project for development of Lakeshore areas at Mannancheri. He will attend Grama Sabha in Kumarakom Village panchayat in the afternoon and interact with panchayat members of Devicolam block area in Munnar in the evening. Mr. Aiyar will attend functions in Santhanpara, Peermedu and Kottayam on July 21. The next day, he will attend a presentation on IT initiatives of Kerala.
