NEW DELHI: A criminal, against whom a red corner notice had been issued through the Interpol wing of CBI as he was wanted in cases of kidnapping and murder, was arrested at Indira Gandhi International Airport here on July 13. He had arrived from Dubai to reportedly commit another kidnapping. The accused was travelling under the name Atmakuri Rajaih on a passport issued in Hyderabad. While checking his travel documents, the immigration officials found that the jacket cover of the passport was forged. During interrogation, he identified himself as Nitesh Modha from Gujarat. He claimed that he had gone to Dubai without any travel document, by hiding in a cargo ship and worked as a mechanic for two years. However, his story did not appear to be credible. On further interrogation, the accused identified himself as Nitin and confessed that he worked for Dubai-based criminals, Aftab Alam Ayub aka Vicky, from Azamgarh, and Sayed Abid Hussain from Hyderabad. He allegedly disclosed that he was involved in several cases of kidnapping. Nitin is the main accused in a sensational kidnapping-cum-murder case in Pune last year.
