KOCHI: Mahatma Gandhi University Vice-Chancellor Jancy James inaugurated the diamond jubilee celebrations of St. Albert's College here on Wednesday. Varapuzha Archbishop Daniel Acharuparambil presided over the inaugural function. St. Albert's College will organise various programmes as part of its jubilee celebrations. The Chemistry Department of the college will organise free tuition classes for Plus Two students belonging to financially backward classes. A 10-day training for Mathematical Olympiad, training for women in ornamental fish farming, and schemes for bio-waste disposal are among the programmes planned by various departments. The college plans to introduce new courses in areas such as space science and bioscience during the Diamond Jubilee year. Seminars, symposiums and exhibitions will also be held.
