NEW DELHI: A 27-year-old woman was found dead in her car under highly mysterious circumstances at Rajinder Nagar in Central Delhi in the early hours of Wednesday. While her parental family alleged that her husband and in-laws had killed her, her husband claimed he had no clue to her whereabouts since Monday. The police have not registered a case yet but have not ruled out any possibility. According to the police, the body of Jugnu Singh Makkad, wife of Rajat Makkad, a resident of New Rajinder Nagar, was found past midnight in a white Santro car. The highly decomposed body was found on the rear seat of the car. The preliminary post-mortem report said there were no obvious injury marks on the body. The police are awaiting the viscera report. During questioning, Rajat told the police that he and his wife had an altercation on July 14, the fourth birthday of their son, over some issue. The next day, she left for Panipat where she was pursuing a beautician's course. He also told the police that he last talked to his wife over phone on Monday. The police, however, have found his version to be false. "The woman never went to Panipat and she was not doing any course there," said a senior police officer. On the other hand, Jugnu's parental family alleged that her husband, who is said to have no permanent source of income, used to harass her for dowry. They also claimed that the Santro car, in which Jugnu's body was found, was given to Rajat in dowry three years ago. The car was registered in Jugnu's name and the address was that of her parents. Jugnu married Rajat seven years ago and the couple had two children, a six-year-old daughter and a four-year-old son.
