Excise on textile intermediates cut

NEW DELHI: The Government on Thursday reduced the excise duty on paraxylene, dimethyl terephthalate (DMT), pure terephthalic acid (PTA), polyester chips and acrylonitrile to 8 per cent from 16 per cent while duty on mono ethylene glycol (MEG) has been cut to 12 per cent from 16 per cent.
