Thiruvananthapuram: SriLankan Airlines has extended its electronic ticketing facility for tickets purchased through most travel agents, increasing the level of convenience for passengers. A simple printout of the booking combined with a valid passport is all that passengers need to present at the airport. Payment can be made by credit card and travel agents can send the printout via e-mail or fax, which saves customers a trip to the travel agency. "The facility was already available for tickets obtained from SriLankan Airlines' ticket offices or website www.srilankan.aero and now we have extended it to those who prefer to purchase tickets from their travel agents," SriLankan's e-Commerce Manager Kapila Bandara said in a release. E-ticketing through travel agents was launched last month after trials among SriLankan Airlines, selected travel agents, and their reservation system suppliers - Galileo, Amadeus and Abacus. SriLankan offers e-tickets on their own network and has airline e-ticketing partnerships with Emirates, British Airways and Continental Airlines, which enables tickets to be purchased to any city served by SriLankan and vice versa.
