MLA's plea to Christians

A day ahead of the release of controversial English movie `The Da Vinci Code' in the city nominated MLA Christine Lazarus has appealed to the Christians to hold non-violent agitation.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Ms. Lazarus said even though the movie was offensive and hurt the sentiments of the community across the world, Christians should refrain from indulging in untoward incidents.

Workshop on soft skills

Osmania University College of Engineering's Centre for English Language Training (CELT) will be conducting a one-day workshop on soft skills on July 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. covering topics like oral communication skills, written communication skills, team work, time management, presentation skills and multi-cultural skills. Urdu conference

The 28th All-India Urdu Conference and the national executive body meeting of the All-India Urdu Educational Committee will be held on July 28 at the Potti Sriramulu Telugu University's conference hall in Public Gardens.

Union Minister for Minority Affairs A.R. Antulay will inaugurate the conference. Delegates from all over the country are expected to attend.

The implementation of the Prime Minister's 15-point programme will also be discussed at the meet.
