Communal clash in Dhoolpet
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD
: Dumping garbage in front of a religious place led to communal clash leaving 12 persons injured at Indiranagar in Dhoolpet here on Thursday night. The clash coinciding with the ongoing Bonalu festival celebrations in different parts of the city created tension forcing the police higher-ups to rush additional forces to the area.
Trouble started when a pan shop owner Aslam allegedly dumped garbage in front of a religious place. An argument ensued as locals raised objection over throwing the litter there. One of them allegedly beat up Aslam triggering the clash.
Members of both the communities gathered and began hurling stones at each other. Some 12 persons, including a woman, sustained injuries in the stone pelting.
