They will be paid Rs. 1,000 per month and each batch would last for six months. This enables the students make money till they land in a nice job and also ensures that they remain in touch with the language.

The slokas identified by the varsity are -- `Venkatesa Suprabhatam', 'Padmavathi Stuti', `Jagannathashtakam', `Aditya Hrudayam', `Ganesha Bandhanam', `Devi Aparadha Kshamapana stotra', `Sivashtakam' and `Devi Kavacham'.

By `Sri Venkateswara Prakasana Prakalpam,' a team of five boys will have to bring out a quarterly journal to be circulated in their locality. The eight-page journal would focus on current affairs, details of unpublished manuscripts, Venkateswara consciousness, feature on a local scholar and a round-up on Vidyapeetha. The boys will be paid Rs.1,000 each per month, besides Rs.2,000 towards printing charges.

The boys will be trained in news gathering and publishing, Vice-Chancellor Harekrishna Satapathy told The Hindu . According to him, the schemes are aimed at preventing brain drain, as many impatient Sanskrit graduates tend to stray away and settle for inferior jobs in unrelated fields. However, the assistance will be available only for five years, he added. The schemes will be run with the financial assistance of TTD.
