Mumbai blasts: `Centre has vital clues'

Staff Reporter

PUDUKOTTAI: Union Minister of State for Home S. Regupathy on Friday said the Centre had obtained "vital clues" in the Mumbai train blasts case.

Speaking to The Hindu at Tiruvarankulam, near here, he said the perpetrators would be brought to book shortly.

To a question on the prevention of such incidents, Mr. Regupathy said although the Union Home Ministry was aware of the `camps' run by extremists, it refrained from any "elimination" action as it would cost the lives of several innocent people too.

He described the blasts as an "attempt by external forces to halt the nation's progress."
