Tension prevails after Kanwarias beat up cops

DEHRA DUN: Tension prevails in Mussoorie following a few Kanwarias roughing up two police constables and a municipal employee and the locals retaliating by chasing and beating up the Kanwarias late on Thursday evening.

The Kanwarias had turned violent on being stopped from taking their vehicles on The Mall where vehicular movement is restricted.

Sore at the indecent behaviour of youths, posing as Kanwarias, with women in the markets and picnic resorts over the past 10 days, local residents and shopkeepers urged the authorities to either check the indecent behaviour or ban the entry of Kanwarias into the hill station.
