Thiruvananthapuram: Bank employees, including officers in Kerala, will strike work on July 28 in response to a call for a nation-wide agitation against the alleged Government move to outsource clearing house operations and promote foreign participation. Addressing a press conference here on Friday, leaders of the All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA), All India Bank Officers Association (AIBOA) and the Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI) accused the Government of sabotaging banking institutions by transferring their operations to non-banking financial institutions, non-government organisations, self-help groups, micro-credit and cooperative institutions and post offices. They said moves were afoot to hand over 1,100 clearing houses to the private sector National Payment Corporation at book value.
