A talent hunt for children in the Capital

Madhur Tankha

NEW DELHI: Hungama TV will make a splash this monsoon with the launch of "Oral-B John Aur Kaun", a talent hunt for children in the Capital. The audition will give the participants an opportunity to display their singing, acting and dancing skills. In the first-round audition on Saturday, 50 children will be short-listed at K.R.Mangalam World School. And in the second round on Sunday, the final eight will be selected at Grand Mall DLF City Phase-1 on M.G.Road. There will also be on-the-spot auditions for those who missed out on sending their entries. Auditions will also be held in Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad over the next few weeks. The most talented eight contenders from each city will be flown to Mumbai for the final rounds. Later the nationwide audition will be aired on Hungama TV.

At every step of the contest, the selected participants will be groomed by eminent professionals from the industry. By a process of elimination, the final four candidates will be chosen for a nationwide voting process via SMS and tele-voting, following which the final two winners will be announced at a gala star-studded event in Mumbai.

Finally, one boy and one girl will be chosen to act in a UTV-produced film with Hungama TV's brand ambassador John Abraham. They will also be presented with a cash prize of Rs.5 lakhs each, along with a three-year contract with UTV to manage their acting careers. Speaking about the talent hunt, Zarina Mehta of Hungama TV said: "We are delighted to be moving into the auditions phase of `Oral B John Aur Kaun' and look forward to encounter some hugely talented kids, two of whom will get the chance of a lifetime to act with Bollywood superstar John Abraham."
