Eminent Sanskrit scholars awarded

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Sansthan on Friday honoured (Late) Kubernath Shukla with `Vishwabharti Award'. Pt. Vishwanath Shastri Datar was conferred with `Maharishi Valmiki Award' .

Awards were also given to 43 other eminent Sanskrit scholars.

Describing `Sanskrit' as the world's richest language, Dr. Ashok Bajpai, U.P. agriculture minister and chief guest, expressed concern over the language not getting its due place in the society. ``Efforts should be made to popularise this ancient language,''he said. . - UNI.
