Belgaum: The Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti has demanded that the State Government stop "harassing and committing atrocities in various forms" on Marathi-speaking people and withdraw all cases booked against the owners of commercial establishments for not displaying name boards in Kannada. In a memorandum submitted to Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy through the office of Deputy Commissioner here, the MES alleged that the State Government was continuing "atrocities" on the Marathi-speaking people. The latest was registering cases against 188 commercial establishments, it said.
