Scheme seeks to redirect funding


  • Scheme will "not be consistent with National Policy on Education"
  • It will result in higher expenditure, says Ministry

    NEW DELHI: The Union Human Resources Development (HRD) Ministry has rejected the Planning Commission's proposal to introduce a Voucher Scheme in the XI Five Year Plan to "promote equity and quality in schooling in areas where adequate private supply exists" as an alternative to setting up more government schools.
