MANGALORE: Janardhana Gowda (32) allegedly murdered his brother Padma Gowda (40) by stabbing him with a sharp iron object over land dispute. The incident occurred at the house of Padma Gowda near Enmanaje, Eliya-Nadugodu village, Bantwal taluk.
Accident
Hathim (35), an autorickshaw driver, who sustained grievous injuries in an accident involving his vehicle on Shivajinagar Road at Moodushedde village in Mangalore taluk on Wednesday, died at a hospital here on Friday.
Assault
Five persons reportedly removed a fence put up by their neighbours at Nirmai-Bendodi of Kollamogaru village in Subramanya police station limits. Police said the accused B. Ragava Koraga, Damodara Meera, Seetarama Meera, Narayan Gowda and Talur Mohan Gowda gathered unlawfully and removed the fence put up by Kenchamma, Damodara Gowda, Somashekara. The accused also allegedly assaulted them with stick.
Cables stolen
A total of 150 metres of cable were stolen from telephone poles near Adkere mosque, Konaje village in Mangalore taluk.
