Teachers to stage dharna at Minister's house

HYDERABAD: The AP Joint Action Committee of Teachers' Organisations has accused Government of adopting indifferent attitude towards several problems/demands of teachers, including scrapping of deputations.

Office-bearers of the committee said here on Friday that thousands of teachers were worried because of `irregularities' in deputations.

They said the committee would stage a dharna to protest against Government's attitude at School Education Minister N. Rajyalakshmi's house here on August 8.

Demands

The demands include sanction of two notional increments for apprentice service and recognition for automatic advancement scheme, regularisation of special `vidya' volunteers from March 2003, protecting unaided service of aided teachers and salary protection to pandits whose services were upgraded vide GO 330.
