BANGALORE: Pakistan has pulled out of the Asian Youth under-21 netball championship scheduled to begin here on July 24, B. Mohan Kumar, organising secretary of the event said here. The organisers said that the Pakistan team officials have informed their inability to participate in the championship, as they could not get visas. The information was sent through e-mail. The Netball Federation of India, however, claimed that the Ministry of External Affairs had cleared the Pakistan team, but it was Pakistan, which did not give it the green signal to play in Bangalore. After a fruitless wait at the Wagah border, the team returned to Lahore. Pakistan's absence has further depleted the field with only seven teams in the fray now. The Malaysian and Sri Lankan squads, which arrived here on Friday night, had extensive practice sessions along with other teams. Malaysia is the defending champion and Sri Lanka was the runner-up at the last meet in Colombo in 2004. Special Correspondent
