Cambridge diploma for teachers

In all, 20 educators from schools all over South India who completed the diploma this year were awarded certificates by CIE.

CHENNAI:
University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) recently distributed diplomas to teachers who completed the Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers programme.
To help teachers
The diploma was introduced with the aim of helping teachers in their professional development.
The course was offered by Srikriti Institute at British Council.
In all, 20 educators from schools all over South India who completed the diploma this year were awarded certificates by CIE.
One candidate has secured distinction in all four modules.
William Bickerdike, regional manager South Asia, CIE, noted that schools in Chennai were known for their high educational standards and the Cambridge Diploma enabled teachers to bring out their best through reflective teaching practices.
Great requirement
According to Nirupa Fernandez, head, Examinations Services, South India, British Council, there is a great requirement for teacher training programmes in India.
