dated July 24, 1956: Nehru back in Delhi

Prime Minister Nehru, who arrived in New Delhi on July 23 after his four-week tour of European countries, was accorded a warm welcome at the Palam airport. The President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, and the Vice-President Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, were the first to greet him as he alighted from the IAF Viscount. Others present at the airport included the Congress President, Mr. U.N. Dhebar, Cabinet Ministers, members of the diplomatic corps and senior civil and military officers.
