Kochi to host national expo on building infrastructure

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: The 22nd All-India BAI Convention and Build Expo 2006 International Exhibition will be held in Kochi in December. The theme of the convention will be `Infrastructure and Development — Today's Challenge.' The meet will be held at Le Meridien while the expo will be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kaloor from December 2 to 4.

The theme will focus on how opening up the Indian economy and globalisation would make contractors go in for newer construction technologies, methods, equipment, new and alternate building materials. The convention will be held in two sections. The first will be the Builders' Convention where the members of the industry, professionals, manufacturers and industry leaders will exchange ideas on development and the issues confronting the industry. The second will be a technical seminar jointly organised by the Builders' Association of India and the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat).
