PONDICHERRY: The State unit of CPI (M) has decided to observe bandh on August 1 to protest against the Government's admission policy in private professional colleges. The CPI (M) State secretary Murugan told reporters on Saturday that the Government's decision to settle for 32 per cent seats under its quota in private medical colleges was against the interest of the students. He termed the decision as "mere sell out to the private management". The percentage of seats earmarked for the students under Government quota this year was meagre compared to last year, he added.
