Workshop on molecular biology

PONDICHERRY: A six-day workshop on basic techniques in molecular biology and bio-informatics would be held at JIPMER from July 24.

The workshop would impart training in molecular biology technique that are essential for pharmacogenices, an emerging field that associates the genetic make-up of an individual with drug metabolism and treatment response. It is a contemporary science that promises a new era of personalised medicine, a release from JIPMER said. Around 20 doctors from across the country would participate. The workshop is jointly organised by the Department of Pharmacology, JIPMER, Vector Control Research Center and Pondicherry University.
