Central Zone triumphs

VIJYAWADA: Central Zone emerged winner defeating South Zone by an innings and 144 runs in the ACA under-19 inter-zone tournament at Siddhartha Medical College grounds here on Sunday.

On Tuesday, Central will play against a combined team of South and North Zones for the four-day S. Narayana Rao Trophy.

Andhra under-19 team will be selected on the concluding day.

Combined team: M. S. Deepak Kumar, G. Moshin Basha, S. Kranthi Kumar, G. Vamsi Manohar, Irfan Elahi, G. Appanna, Md. Mukaram Ali, K. Bharat Reddy, D. Siva Kumar, G.V.S Prasad, Sheik Akram, D. Kiran Kumar Reddy.

The scores: Central Zone 368 for nine decl. bt South Zone 117 (M. Dinesh Kumar five for 17) & 107 (D. Prabhu Kiran four for 17, M. Dinesh Kumar three for 19). — Sports Reporter
