VISAKHAPATNAM: The Rotary and Rotaract Clubs of Visakha Satellite City conducted an anti-terrorism signature campaign by displaying two banners of 50 feet each near YMCA and R.K. Beach on the Beach Road on Sunday condemning the July 11Mumbai blasts and condoling the death of innocent people.
The resolve
The signed banners will later be sent to President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam to express the resolve of the citizens of Visakhapatnam to fight terrorism. "We want everyone to know that we are one irrespective of our region, religion or caste and will stand united against terrorism," said treasurer of Rotaract Club N. Suman Krishnan. The signature campaign began at 5 a.m. and it was hoped to collect as many as 10,000 signatures by the end of the day. "We have the active participation and support of all Rotary members and volunteers," said president of Rotaract Club Satish Varma. District Governor of the Rotary Club K. Chaya Devi inaugurated the campaign. President of Rotary Club Anwar Basha, secretary P.V.S.V. Prasad and Rotary members participated in the campaign.
