NEW DELHI: A call claiming that a bomb had been planted inside Satyam multiplex led the West Delhi police to vacate the entire complex and carry out a thorough search. While the call was declared a hoax after no explosives were found, two young men were arrested in this connection. The police received a call around 12-30 p.m. in which the caller claimed that a bomb was going to explode at Satyam multiplex. Taking the call seriously, bomb detection and disposal squads were pressed into service and all the four halls immediately vacated with the help of the multiplex management. The combing exercise went on for about two hours, but the police did not come across any bomb following which the operation was called off. The call was traced to a phone at Ranjit Nagar. The police picked up two young men, who worked there as motor mechanics, on suspicion of their involvement. During interrogation, the two allegedly confessed to having made the call. Subsequently, they were booked. A few days ago, the East Delhi police had arrested 19-year-old Mohammad Shadab on charges of making hoax calls claiming that bombs had been planted inside the Akshardham temple in East Delhi, PVR Plaza in Connaught Place and Chandni Chowk.
