Thiruvananthapuram: Visitors to Medical College Hospital clashed with security guards at the main entrance of the hospital on Sunday afternoon after the guards refused to let in visitors to the wards without the entry pass. According to sources, a group of persons allegedly DYFI activists, who came to the hospital at 2.45 p.m. wanted to visit the wards. However, the security guards insisted that none would be allowed in without entry passes, following which a skirmish ensued between the visitors and the guards. The Medical College police had to be called in to defuse the situation. This is the second time in the past one week that the hospital is witnessing skirmishes between visitors and the security guards. Last week, following the death of a youth, people had clashed with the police in front of the mortuary.
