Government employees seek parity in pay

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: The Akhila Karnataka State Government Employees' Federation has urged the Government not to appoint another chairman for the Fifth Pay Commission.

It said the Government should instead adopt the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission appointed by the Union Government.

According to a press release here on Sunday, the federation demanded pay parity, and merging 50 per cent dearness allowance (DA) with basic pay and increasing the retirement age to 60.

This would give justice and relief to the State Government employees, the federation said.
