BANGALORE: An autorickshaw driver allegedly assaulted a driver of Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) as the bus driver "did not give way" to the autorickshaw in Magadi Road Police Station limits on Saturday. The incident occurred at Rajajinagar VI Block. The BMTC driver Shiva Kumar has lodged a complaint following which the police arrested the autorickshaw driver Manjunath (30). Investigation is on.
Robbed
Four men robbed a call centre employee of Rs. 3,800 in cash and a mobile phone handset in Fraser Town Police Station limits on Saturday. The police said Santosh Kumar (28) was waiting for a bus near Richards Park when the men approached him and accused him of selling drugs. Later, they allegedly took him in their vehicle and robbed him of the cash and the phone set before dropping him off near his house. Fraser Town Police have registered a case and are investigating.
Arrested
The Magadi Road police have arrested a man on the charge of impersonation. The police gave the name of the accused as Vijay, son of Vivek Kumar. According to the police, the accused impersonated Narasimha Murthy during the II PU supplementary examination on the SJRC campus near Okalipuram. He was arrested on a complaint by the examination authorities. Magadi Road Police have registered cases in this connection.
