    Memorandum

    Belgaum Staff Correspondent reports:

Members of Belgaum Bar Association on Monday abstained from the court work to protest against the "delaying tactics" of the Government on establishment of the Circuit Bench of Karnataka High Court in north Karnataka. The advocates marched to the Deputy Commissioner's office and submitted a memorandum to the Government.

The association alleged that the Janata Dal (Secular)-Bharatiya Janata Party collation Government was pretending to work for the development of north Karnataka, but had no real concern for the problems and issues of the region.

They said though the Government had announced on Saturday to immediately lay the foundation stone to house the building for proposed circuit bench, there was no firm commitment on its part.

The protest was led, among others, by Belgaum Bar Association president S.S. Kivadsannavar, vice-presidents L.K. Gurav, S.K. Patil and secretary Ramesh Patil.
