Student beaten by teacher dies

The teacher who has been suspended is absconding

AHMEDABAD:
A 14-year-old boy was beaten to death by his schoolteacher in Lunavada taluka of Godhra district in Gujarat.
Pravin Pagi, eldest son of a mason in Bhayasar village and an eighth standard student in the Viraniya high school, is said to have failed to answer some questions put to him by the social studies teacher, Praful Patel. This angered the teacher and he thrashed Pravin with a stick.
He told his parents about the treatment meted out to him by the teacher and was immediately hospitalised. He died on Sunday night. A case has been registered against the teacher, who is absconding.
