Letters to the Editor
Jaswant Singh, former External Affairs Minister, has claimed there was a mole in Prime Minister Narasimha Rao's office who leaked nuclear secrets to the United States. He has, however, consistently refused to name him on the ground that he is doing this in public interest. This explanation deceives no one because, if anything, public interest requires that the mole be exposed, whoever he may be. Morever, Mr. Singh should know that keeping the information from the police is a crime. Now that the Prime Minister has publicly dared him to name the mole, he has no option but to do so if he wishes to retain credibility.
