Bangalore: Andhra Pradesh Minister for Religious Endowments and Charitable Institutions Diwakar Reddy and senior officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board have assured mathidhipatis and representatives of Hindu religious organisations that the seven hills at Tirumala will be declared "holy land of the Hindus." Four other demands will also be implemented. Disclosing this here on Monday, Sri Visvesha Tirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Math in Udupi, who is a member of the Tirupati Tirumala Protection Committee, said that following the assurance they had suspended the protest demonstration at Tirupati they had planned to hold on August 9. He told presspersons that the other demands accepted by the Andhra Pradesh Government are a ban on carrying out any religious propaganda or activity by non-Hindus at Tirumala, only Hindus should be employed at the various facilities there, donations to the temple should be utilised only for the welfare of Hindus and spreading the message of Hinduism and churches or mosques should not be built on the seven hills.
